Aminata Jaiteh is a Gambian-American author born and raised in the Bronx, New York. She writes heartfelt, imaginative stories centering Black girls and exploring themes of identity, belonging, family, and finding one’s voice. Her debut middle-grade novel, Speak Up, Darla Jean , is forthcoming in Fall 2027, with a second middle-grade novel to follow in Fall 2028. She is also writing adult fantasy.
